Rick Weijers is als universitair docent verbonden aan het Instituut voor Privaatrecht van de Universiteit Leiden. Zijn expertise ligt met name in het (onroerende) goederenrecht, het huwelijksvermogensrecht en de notariële wetgeving. Over deze rechtsgebieden doceert en publiceert hij ook. Ian Sumner is Rechter bij de Rechtbank Zeeland-West-Brabant en Voorzitter van de Landelijke Expertgroep IPR bij de rechtspraak. Tevens is hij Hoogleraar Familierecht en IPR aan de Tilburg University.
