In this annual case law meeting, conducted in English, renowned specialists will review the most relevant and noteworthy patent cases from 2026 up to the present, including:
- Important UPC patent cases
- Key EPO rulings
- Relevant case law from The Hague Court
Naturally, the most significant rulings of the past year will be covered. Each ruling and its associated topic will be explored in depth and discussed extensively. This course is specifically designed for specialists in the field.
In short, a comprehensive course that ensures your knowledge remains fully up to date!
You can also join the course online. You can ask questions via the chat. These will be forwarded directly to the speakers, so that they can be answered during the course. However, should there be too many questions, we will submit your questions to the speaker afterwards and answer them for you.

Prijs
Het inschrijfgeld bedraagt € 450,- per persoon (excl. btw). In deze prijs is inbegrepen de koffie, thee en catering zoals in het programma vermeld.
U kunt ook online aan de cursus deelnemen. Dan bedraagt het inschrijfgeld eveneens € 450,- per persoon (excl. btw).Mocht u naar de locatie kunnen komen, dan stellen wij en met name de sprekers dat zeer op prijs. De ervaring leert dat dit de interactie tijdens de cursus ten goede komt.
Uiteraard blijft het mogelijk tot 48 uur van tevoren, alsnog te wisselen van fysiek naar online, mocht het nodig zijn.
Punten
Deze cursus biedt 4 onderwijs-uren en is daarmee goed voor 4 juridische punten.
Online deelname
Via de software die gebruikt wordt, registeren wij de deelnemers gedurende de gehele online cursus. Deze registratie vervangt de gebruikelijke handtekeningenlijsten.Aan het eind van de online cursus volgt een toets voor de advocaten. Dit is een eis vanuit de NOvA. Om voor het Bewijs van deelname in aanmerking te komen dient u minimaal 60% van de vragen juist te beantwoorden en gedurende de gehele online cursus geregistreerd te staan.

Part 1 A comprehensive overview of case law in the field of patent law in the Netherlands (from 2026 to the present) will be provided, covering all relevant topics such as novelty, inventive step, added matter and procedural developments. You can expect all relevant UPC cases, TBA cases and Dutch Court cases.

Jaap Bremer is Lawyer and Partner at BarentsKrans Lawyers in The Haque. His focus is on litigation in disputes concerning the infringement and validity of patents and other intellectual property rights, particularly for clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, food, and consumer products industries.
Spreker
Sebastien Versaevel is Partner and European patent litigator at Winston Taylor Benelux. He focuses on European patent litigation, with an emphasis on the Unified Patent Court (UPC), and has experience before the Dutch patent courts.
